Ebook before paperback?

So… I’m on my phone and thinking… In terms of strategy, would it be wise to release the ebook before the paperback? There’s really no “to publish” cost with ebooks whereas those who use Createspace can pay fees… The fees I believe are needed – such as the upgrade fee, ISBN fee, and proof. I estimate the paperback to cost about $60.

So what if you publish the ebook first and make it a goal to achieve the profit needed to publish the paperback? That way after you get the paperback out, each sale becomes profit to you (of course profit being Amazon’s royalty).

I’m thinking out loud… I’ll blog more in depth to this later, maybe even do it with my next book.

  1. Personally (and selfishly) I’d say ebook first 🙂 Because of space constraints, I no longer buy physical books — I literally have no room for them.
