So I say today that Apple may be getting sued for ebook price fixing?
Wow… if this holds up and proves true, this is a HUGE tarnish against traditional publishing and The Big 6.
It seems the ebook prices were going to be fixed with the paperback books. It states that Apple doesn’t want to price down to compete with Kindle. Looks like Apple wants to create a book store for books like they did with music only books have more flexibility, etc. then with books. Books are being controlled by people like me – independent authors who want to share our words… not gouge customers with fees, etc.
I can’t comment into this anymore because I don’t know all the facts, but to have Apple along with the Big 6 listed in a lawsuit regarding ebooks and pricing is not good for traditional publishing. I really hope good comes from this, but it tells me that publishers are scared. They aren’t sure what their next move is going to be. Times keep changing, for sure.
